It is very elegant. Located in the middle of Paseo de Gràcia, it has an area of 465 square meters and is a large part of what was just a few years ago a brand new apartment in Barcelona’s Eixample. It’s called the Royal Penthouse, and it’s been voted the world’s best hotel suite this year.
The decision was made by the Villégiature awards jury, which consists of 22 journalists specialized in hospitality from all over the world. They personally visit and test all nominees for these awards, which will be 20 years old in 2023, and have become an important thermometer in the sector.

Curiously, in the last round, the Catalonia Hotel won a legend in its category: Martinez de Cannes. A landmark on the famous Croisette promenade, this Côte d’Azur establishment was founded in 1929. By then, the Majestic had been welcoming guests from all over the world to one of the city’s best quarters for 11 years. Owned by Martin Casals Galcerán since the late twenties, he dedicated a large part of his life to making this place one of Barcelona’s reference hotels.

A 30 million euro investment that allowed the hotel to become part of the Leading Hotels of The World group, an association of quality establishments that regularly measures 1,500 different parameters to welcome and retain its members.
