Ratings are determined during the year during an unscheduled annual inspection by an expert who evaluates the overall experience as well as the overall quality, cleanliness and standards of the property.

AAA has recently strengthened its controls with ATP surface testing, the same technology used to check cleanliness in the food service and healthcare industries. Each property must achieve AAA’s acceptable surface test pass rate of 75% or higher, with Villa Premiere achieving 100%. This new step in AAA’s trusted inspection process provides scientific confirmation that the hotel’s cleaning protocols are effective.

Approximately 32,000 hotels in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean are AAA approved and Diamond rated. Only a small fraction of the tens of thousands of AAA hotel reviews receive the Four Diamond Award each year.
